2013 Le Coste PNT

Gianmarco Antonuzzi & Clémentine Bouveron tend to 14 hectares overlooking Lago di Bolsena, the largest volcanic lake in Europe. With vineyards up to 600m above sea level, planted amongst olive groves and chestnut trees, Le Coste is home to a unique collection of microclimates rich in biodiversity. A leading light in biodynamics with a serious cult following.
This is a wild one. 100% pinot noir, an ancient Alsatian clone, from their 'Piancabella' vineyard on volcanic soils 500m above sea level. Fermented as whole bunches for three weeks, destemmed to macerate for a further three, then pressed to old casks for a year. Complex, mineral, intriguing. Not much of this going around.
