2019 Fabio Gea Back Grin

Fabio Gea is a young winemaker whose grandfather bequeathed him a few tiny plots around the Bricco in Barbaresco. The former geologist makes such little wine, his vineyard being less than one hectare, he is able to hand number each bottle with a pen. His wines are unknown to the point that Googling one returns almost no results. 100% grignolino. Destemmed and macerated for up to three weeks, fermented and aged in a mixture of homemade porcelain and stoneware vessels. The wine is bottled in old Travaglini Gattinara bottles Fabio found in an old warehouse. One of the few lighters styles of grignolino around with incredible drive. Super limited.
