This is a saline wine showing aromas of green melon, pithy citrus, and dried grass, with subtle lifted characters and a nutty, oxidative savouriness on the finish. It's fruity, rich and has great balanced acidity which is medium. Pure and fresh and just a joy to drink.
Isabelle & Jean-Yves Vantey established their domaine in 1998 with just one hectare in Maranges, the youngest appellation in Burgundy named just ten years earlier. Now they farm six hectares biodynamically across 15 different sites in various appellations. The name "Rouges Queues" came from the birds ("red tail", also known as "black redstart") circling around the estate while they restored the old farm buildings.
