Is it a red is it a white? Classic question. Red. But also, kinda both. 50/50 foot stomped Shiraz from high up in McLaren Vale, pressed with Muscat from over the hill in McLaren Flat. Born after one of those ‘wow’ moments you often have with wine from, say, Southern French heroes. An iridescent red with a pretty floral lift. Quenching and layered all at once. With the body of a sunset wine it’s more than that, always holding up well into the night, or morning.
Getting the chance to work in the illustrious Borachio winery as head of cleaning, pressure washing, Hilux driving and bovine nourishment, the wines came about after seeking out new parcels of fruit from nearby growers, before claiming squatter’s rights over a corner of the shed. It’s a beautiful grey area and the perfect stitch up. PÓŹNO. It’s Polish for late. And the wines are always worth the wait.
