Hand-harvested early to retain natural acidity and freshness, the chilled fruit was direct pressed, settled then run to tank (60%) and old French oak (40%) where the wine rested on its gross lees without sulphur until racking in September. Fruit from Ricca Terra. And the result is spot on. 11.2 % alv/vol. Pale straw, it has a nice mix of classic pear fruit and delicate spice and dried yellow wildflowers. Light to medium body its freshness and vitality instantly appealing. Just-ripe flavours of green pear, yellow plum, Meyer lemon supercharged by brisk acidity, despite full malo. Juicy and pithy but very elegant; not even a hint of bitterness. Summer in a bottle! Easily our best yet
