A snapshot of 3 vintages – 2018, 2019, 2020 - This has bags of wild strawberry sour cherry with a meaty whiff. It is tight, with mouth-coating tannins that are evened out by racy, tart acidity. This is a natural wine that is on the right side of funk.
Soil: ~300-450 m above sea level, deep, ancient alluvial soils, decomposing granitic sands, hard schist, east- west orientation across the vineyards. Hand-harvested fruit.50% destemmed, 50% whole-bunch.Natural ferment for 3 weeks. Aged for 12 months in neutral French puncheons. Followed by 2 months of stainless steel settling.Minimal 20 ppm SO2 added at bottling. Unfined & unfiltered.
Elegant, vibrant, chilled red. Lifted aromas of wild strawberry, blood orange, and herbs. The palate shows juicy red fruits, spice, and savoury texture.
