In 1860, Italian physicist Antonio Pacinotti invented the Dynamo, a direct-current electrical generator that created ‘a living, renewable, pure and clean energy’. The renewable, pure and clean sentiment resonated with the producers, so they chose to call their winery by the same name. The winery has been working in sustainable viticulture since 2018 when Danilo Nofrini and his son, Simone, teamed up with Danilo Marcucci, a pioneer in the Italian natural wine movement. These wines pay homage to the old school ‘peasant’ style of wines and offer a great lineup of ‘uno litros’. Indigenous grape varieties grow in the area’s clay and calcium-rich alluvial soils. Vineyards are located atop the highest, steepest and roughest peaks of Umbria, near the village of Colle Castelluccio and close to the Lago Trasimeno.
