Our 9th year of working with Burnton Ridge in Mt. Torrens. We are so grateful for Mike & Margaret's careful touch in the vineyard and their joyful spirit that we think is shown in the wines coming from this beautiful place. Sandy loam over red clay. Made oxidatively. 2 weeks on skins, then pressed into old French oak. Curry leaf, white pepper, customary apricot sorbet. Texture for days. Scrumptious.
Russian-born winemaker Alex Schulkin and his wife Galit make pristine zero-zero wine in Adelaide Hills. Alex is also a researcher at the Australian Wine Research Institute in his day job. Makes sense.
