An iconic Domaine from Savoie, the Berlioz family has been farming 5 hectares in Chignin. Domaine Partagé-Gilles Berlioz is one of the heavyweights of biodynamic viticulture in Savoie. The adventure started in 1990. Gilles stopped the use of oak in 2006 and replaced it with fibre glass, and recently moved to élevage on fine lees in horizontal fibre glass eggs. "Why horizontal? That's how you find them in nature, don't you? Gilles and Christine want to make the best wines possible and show the world that you can produce Grand Cru class wines in this region. Every year, Gilles sells one quarter of their grapes to young vignerons providing a helping hand as they start in the industry.
