"Upon our initial encounter with Gérard Marula, it was immediately evident that both he and his wines had an exceptional quality. Gérard, a genuine artisan, tends to a three-hectare vineyard nestled in Thizay within the esteemed Chinon appellation. Here, He's dedicated mostly to Cabernet Franc and producing Baconelle and Les Grouches (both lieu-dit of Chinon Appelation, despite all wines are now declassified to Vin de France) and Que Votre Joie Demeure.

Gérard also thoughtfully sources Grolleau from a trusted friend's vineyard in Anjou, from which he makes the vibrant Allegro. The Chinon terroir is strong (sandstones, silex and fossils), giving to all the wines lightness and dept. Gérard cave is composed by three small cellars excavated in the tufa, without doors, a magic environment of perfect temperature, humidity and healthy mould that make these wines so unique." - Giorgio De Maria
