2018 Domaine des Rouges-Queues Hautes-Côtes de Beaune

Isabelle & Jean-Yves Vantey established their domaine in 1998 with just one hectare in Maranges, the youngest appellation in Burgundy named just ten years earlier. Now they farm six hectares biodynamically across 15 different sites in various appellations. The name "Rouges Queues" came from the birds ("red tail", also known as "black redstart") circling around the estate while they restored the old farm buildings. | Vines over 50 years old on clay and Jurassic limestone. 100% whole bunch maceration over 14 days, 10 months élevage in old barrels. Lifted and fragrant with a heady bouquet of dried roses, violet and cherry. Pretty yet structured with an underyling earthiness.
Varietal: Pinot Noir.
Region: Burgundy, FR.
Viticulture: Certified Biodynamic.
