Hailing from Piemonte, qualified architects Antonella Gerosa & Massimo Marchiori purchased an isolated property in Bonastre in 2001, yearning for a simpler lifestyle, to grow their own produce and reconnect with the land. Surrounded by a protected forest, planted with almond and olive trees, interspersed with rosemary, thyme and Mediterranean scrub, the couple soon discovered an abandoned vine of Sumoll, a forgotten indigenous Catalan varietal.
100% Vinyater, a local Penedes variety near extinction. The fruit here is sourced from two vineyards, the vines 65 and 70 years of age. Hand harvested, de-stemmed and slowly pressed. Fermented and then rested in stainless steel tanks.
A white floral undertone on the nose interspersed with grapefruit and herbal scrub. There’s an abundance of purity here, zesty citrus, lemon juice and green almond. With sea salt and freshness, it transports to a coastal town and sings summer.
