2020 Colle Florido Salvo

WINEMAKER: Daniela & Andrea Ugolotti
REGION: Abruzzo, IT
VARIETAL: Montepulciano
VITICULTURE: Organic
Salvo is a 100% Montepulciano coming from the same vineyard of Erba Salata. A red that is born, following Andrea dreams to make a wine to drink while giving the opportunity to Erba Salata to rest longer in barrel. Like Abruzzese tradition, Salvo is macerated on skin for about 3/4 days. Once drawn off, the fermentation is completed without skins, followed by a soft pressing and refining in 30 hectoliters wooden vats. Fresh perky nose of wild berries. Fun and tasty, suitable for any situation and pairing.
Colle Florido is situated in Abruzzo, the greenest region in Europe, as almost half of its territory, is set as national parks and protected nature reserves. About 20 minutes drive inland, leaving behind the main coastal city of Pescara and the Adriatic sea, Andrea Ugolotti and his wife Daniela, found the perfect place for their farm and family. The winery is situated on top of a hill, just outside the little town of Pianella, around 250 metres above the sea level.
