WINEMAKER: Alberto y Joshua
REGION: Catalunya, SP
VARIETY: Xarel-lo, Parellada, Garnaxa Blanca, Trepat, Sumoll, Ull de Llebre, Carinena
VITICULTURE: Organic
An assemblage (or cosmic blend) of all the grapes that the team at Cyclic works with; Xarel-lo, Parellada, Garnaxa Blanca, Trepat, Sumoll, Ull de Llebre, Carinena, and many more. Mostly free run juices, with a few short macerations in the white varieties. Quite similar in its garrigue and salinity. Lots of rose petals and tart cherries. Excellent value.
Brothers Alberto and Joshua founded Cyclic Beer Farm in 2016, focusing on the cultivation of mixed fermentation beers. Soon the brothers expanded this remit into fruit fermentations, ciders and wines.
Their fruit ferments and wines, inspired by their early days of home brewing and winemaking, are produced using only local, organically grown fruits, fermented naturally by the action of the wild yeasts present on their skins. Alberto and Joshua source their fruit from across beautiful Catalunya, and harvest by hand themselves, using many of same organic growers as used by Partida Creus and Emi Mutombo.
The brothers continually strive to experiment and as they grow in knowledge and experience, exploring the boundaries of their processes, seeking to employ novel methods and increase their use of locally sourced organic raw materials to create a singular drinking experience, indelibly linked to their locale. This new selection of wines shows the fruits of their experimentation, with easy drinking crowd pleasers and more nuanced wines that reward considerate drinking.
