This new wine represents another step in the progression of our wine making for this variety; a blend of extended skin-contact in Amphora and traditional barrel fermented wine. The result is incredibly aromatic and complex on the palate.
A powerful illumination of gold-flecked green which lights up the stemware. Stone fruits, honeysuckle, vanilla bean and a waft of lime blossom explodes from the glass. The palate is richly layered with gobs of ripe stone fruits, deftly balanced by acidity which keeps the rollicking fruit that powers this wine in check. Phenolics are judged to perfection - just enough to corset the fruit and maintain focus and length on the palate. Here is power with restraint. Destined for a long life given the quality of fruit and the impeccable structural components enveloping this glorious expression of Roussanne.
This wine has been partially fermented and aged on skins for 10 months in Spanish Amphora (Terracotta pots) and the remaining wine in French oak barrels.
