2021 Saep Scarp Riesling

From the Brackenwood vineyard – Willunga Hill, Adelaide hills, Managed by Dave. Organic and Biodynamic Certified. Planted in 1998, 370m ASL Silty clay loam, ironstone pebbles quartz over weathered quartzite. Whole bunch press very slowly. Fermented and aged in steel for 16 months on full solids. Aged for a further year in bottle post release. Complete dry australian riesling, almost clare valley feeling with lovely floral notes.

Dave is a great farmer that embraces all things organic and biodynamic and the wines he makes have superbly detailed finesse coupled with inherent drinkability. Alongside his own winemaking project Dave grows and sources fruit for dozens of winemakers including Jauma, Brackenwood, World's Apart Wines, Carto and Das Juice to name a few. All vineyards in Saep are organic, sustainable and respected with Dave using techniques such as grazing sheep over winter and compost addition to his approach.
