2022 Bink Little Red

WINEMAKER: Koen Janssens
REGION: Barossa Valley, SA
VARIETAL: Muscat, Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Petit Verdot
VITICULTURE: Organic
"Blend of muscat, cabernet franc, riesling and petit Verdot. Muscat has seen 2 days on skins and pressed to stainless steel to end the ferment and stay on gross lees until blending. Cabernet franc is saignee juice form the 8day cab franc ferment. Riesling is one day skin contact ferment and pressed to stainless steel. The petit Verdot is fermented dry on skins and pressed to tank. All the components are blended on Monday 9th of May. Really getting the hang of bringing a little red that's very similar to last years. Red and black fruit in nose with soft spice. Very juicy mouth feel with lemon curd that rolls and keeps rolling!! Just driving that convertible on the beach with the sun going down over the ocean!!" - Koen
Koen Janssens started his wine life working as a Sommelier in Belgium and around Europe. He landed in Sydney in 2012 but it wasn't long before he was called to life in the vineyard in South Australia. Koen worked with legends we all know and love such as Anton from Lucy M, James from Jauma. He started Yetti and the Kokonut with Dave Geyer, but it was old mate Pete Schell from Spinifex who suggested Koen get out on his own, and Bink was born in 2017.
