Argalà Bitter Aperitivo 700ml

REGION: Piemonte, IT | ABV: 25%
The idea behind this drink comes from a brilliant experience while hiking in the Besimauda mountains. E & P were tasting alpine flowers and came across a particularly bitter nibble of gentian; to 'refresh' their palate they drunk some hibiscus tea they had made: best combination ever! Bitter is a blend approx 50:50 hibiscus sugared infusion + a separate infusion of gentian, orange peel, licorice, wild fennel, rosemary, croton & ginger. It’s bitter, sweet, sour and spiced! Serving suggestions: with soda or 'Negroni Alpino' (with Genepi Gin, Amaro Alpino, Vermouth)
Argalà, in the dialect of this area of Piemonte, means satisfied: not an ordinary satisfaction, though, but almost a peace of mind.
Enrico and Piero are two childhood friends who in 2011 started the first Italian artisanal Pastis. The first liqueur laboratory consisted of two renovated rooms in the old grandparents’ house; in 2015 they moved to the new premises, a converted barn in Boves, in the middle of the countryside at the foot of the Maritime Alps. Moreover, in 2018 they also start cultivating the herbs and plants needed for their liqueurs in the fields near the distillery, in addition to the foraged herbs.
Everything is about raw materials: first quality wheat distillate, water from the Maritime Alps, local herbs and plants, selected spices and sugars. No shortcuts such as flavourings, colourings, essences and stabilisers.
