Mostly from the granitic soils of the Schlossberg, Alsace’s first Grand Cru vineyard designated back in 1975. Pure and intensely mineral. Generous with great length and many years ahead of it.
Laurent Barth has garnered a serious cult following. Taking over his family vineyards in 1999, soon converting them to biodynamics and establishing his own label, Laurent now farms around four hectares across 27 scattered plots in his small town of Bennwihr. Careful, patient and precise in the cellar with long, natural ferments up to 12 months in barrel with only indigenous yeasts. There is an unmistakable purity and depth to Laurent's wine.
