2019 Jacopo Stigliano Buriana Anfora

Jacopo farms around three hectares of ancient vineyards on the hills around Bologna and Modena. Vines up to 100 years old, grown amongst wood and orchards, home to over 20 native varieties co-planted in Italian tradition for true field blends. No technology, zero adds, honest winemaking with a respect for biodiversity and terroir.
A true field blend of over a dozen co-planted varieties - chasselas dorree, alionza, trebbiano montanaro, trebbiano di spagna, trebbiano romagnolo, verdicchio... You get it. This amphora portion of Buriana was special to Jacopo and bottled separately. Co-fermented on skins for eight days, rested in terracotta for a year in which it developed a little flor, offering some complexity and nuttiness, layered with minerality and salinity.
