2020 Castelmaure SanSa!
WINEMAKER: Coopérative
REGION: Languedoc-Roussillon, FR
VARIETY: Grenache, Syrah
VITICULTURE: Organic (in Conversion)
The older, more serious, sans soufre sibling of perennial favourite La Buvette, substituting Carignan for Syrah. Where La Buvette can be chilled and is wonderful of spring/summer, San Sa! is best enjoyed alongside hearty fare as the leaves fall.
Castelmaure is a 102-year-old co-op based in rocky Corbières in France’s southwest. They make unfussed, guzzleable wine from well-farmed plots around the region and have cultivated long-term relationships with many of their intergenerational farmers.
