2020 Fabio Gea Cul Otte

WINEMAKER: Fabio Gea
REGION: Piemonte, IT
VARIETAL: Nebbiolo
VITICULTURE: Organic/Biodynamic
This wine could technically make a Barbaresco. The name of this wine is essentially "underpants"; in such the estate's sickle and rake logo (which Fabio has said is intentionally made to resemble a human backside) have a crude drawing of a pair on them. This, we believe, is yet another middle finger to local bureaucracy: Fabio will do whatever he pleases with Nebbiolo despite being in Barbaresco.
"Fabio Gea is a young winemaker whose grandfather bequeathed him a few tiny plots around the Bricco in Barbaresco. The former geologist makes such little wine, his vineyard being less than one hectare, he is able to hand number each bottle with a pen. His wines are unknown to the point that Googling one returns almost no results."
