2021 Bink Diamond Slice Chardonnay

WINEMAKER: Koen Janssens
REGION: Barossa Valley, SA
VARIETAL: Chardonnay
VITICULTURE: Organic
Plenty of oak but doesn't suck - actually rules. How good. "100% Barossa valley chardonnay. 70% new wood, 30% stainless steel. That one Barossa chardonnay you would pick on a list Balanced style between fruit components (stone fruit and soft pear flavours) and wood influence. The new wood sits there as a structural component, elegant and refined rather then a full one, butter licking, vanilla guerrilla impulse" - Koen
Koen Janssens started his wine life working as a Sommelier in Belgium and around Europe. He landed in Sydney in 2012 but it wasn't long before he was called to life in the vineyard in South Australia. Koen worked with legends we all know and love such as Anton from Lucy M, James from Jauma. He started Yetti and the Kokonut with Dave Geyer, but it was old mate Pete Schell from Spinifex who suggested Koen get out on his own, and Bink was born in 2017.
