2021 Château Acid Bull Swamp Syrah

"2021 was our first year of farming vineyards in West Gippsland’s Baw Baw Shire. We were lucky to get our hands on some minuscule parcels of fruit from some exquisite sites in the highly sought after region and these wines are the result. In the cellar our approach is minimal intervention as we do our best not to interfere with the terroir unique to Baw Baw.

100% dry grown Syrah from the Bull Swamp Creek vineyard on the southern edge of Warragul in West Gippsland’s Baw Baw Shire. Planted in 1981, the vineyard is situated at the foothills of the Strzelecki Ranges and also sits on old Volcanic Ferrosol (iron-rich Basalt). Destemmed to stainless steel tank for 30 days, lightly foot stomped and pressed to old French oak hog’s head barrels for 15 months. Limited quantity." - Charlie & Simon

Charlie and Simon started Château Acid in 2017 with a tiny run of 650 bottles. Lucky for us, they make a little more now. Zero adds natty from the Central Ranges. Always on point. We're big fans.
