2021 Crawford River Cabernets

We have 3 Cabernet Sauvignon blocks and 1 Cabernet Franc block. This wine is a blend, comprising 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc. A combination of sandy loam over limestone, with sections of ironstone-rich soils creates a wine of bright fruit purity, with graceful tannic qualities. With all red blocks situated at the top of our slopes, the vines see plentiful warmth. The cool nights throughout most of the ripening period ensures acid is bright and fresh.

Bright and fresh with an undeniable, macerated raspberry and fresh blueberry overtone. There is purity and integrity with plenty of fruit flavour and soft tannins. Juicy, cherry flavours and bright acidity make this wine a delicious drink with a medium frame and terrific length and balance.

Crawford River is an iconic family producer in the cool climate of Henty in Victoria's south-west. The Thomson family have been producing wine from their estate since 1985, making the move to organics in 2008. The vineyard is managed by hand without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or fungicides, using organic composts and grazing sheep.
