2021 Travis Tausend Agori Red
Description
WINEMAKER: Travis Tausend
REGION: Adelaide Hills, SA
VARIETY: Shiraz
VITICULTURE: Organic
"Our red this year is made etirely out of shiraz. The vineyard is called ‘top range’ and is siturated at the top of a north west facing valley and the southern end of the Adelaide Hills. The soils here are fairly common ridge top soils for this area with some iron stone and quartz deposits in loamy clay with a sandstone bed- rock. We destemmed about half of the fruit and then carbonically mascerated the rest. At the end of ferment the destemmed fruit went to barrel while the carbonic stu stayed in stainless. The wine was blended at the end of August and bottled early september. The style is medium bodied with fresh crisp acid and powdery tannin. Glou!" - Travis
Travis Tausend makes pure, compelling zero-zero wines from organically farmed fruit in Hope Forest, one of the coolest microclimates in Adelaide Hills. Using only native yeasts and zero sulphur, this is natural wine at its best and most precise - truly impressive and a joy to drink.
