"Cabernet Franc grown on sandy granitic loams in the Harcourt Valley. Farmed using sustainable practices by Shannon, Leah, and John. Split into two ferments, both going through 21 days of carbonic maceration. Both ferments then gently foot crushed, with one ferment spending five days on skins, the other spending 10 days on skins. Lightly pressed to stainless steel for elevage over winter. Bottled in the spring with a touch of SO2 added before bottling. Tastes of: juicy black currants, raspberry, violets, and savoury spice." - Jake
Trutta is inspired by our family's love of fly fishing. The connection one feels with nature when fishing a pristine high country stream, is something we hold dear. This connection to nature, and the growing seasons expressed in our vineyards, is what we strive to portray in our wines.
