Pale straw in colour with faint mint green edges. The nose expresses a subtle & refined bouquet of lemon balm, wild flowers & jasmine, pine needle, alpine air & tonic. White nectarine, yuzu juice, mandarin oil, pear, ginger & graphite - the palate is saline yet round, graceful & balanced.
This 'Roussette de Savoie' (Altesse) is from dry farmed vines that France Gonzalvez is converting to organic (in 2nd year of conversion). At 11% alc, it's remarkably fresh & zippy for an Altesse, with fantastic mineral length & detail aplenty.
Bordering Switzerland in eastern France, in the heart of the French Alps lies Savoie, a region as diverse as the breathtaking landscapes that surround it. Here, among soaring peaks & tranquil lakes, vineyards cling to steep slopes, their roots digging deep in a patchwork of soils that etch a lasting impression on their wines.
Now, it's time to get glacial with alpine gem, France Gonzalvez. Pure and vibrant, they invigorate with the freshness of alpine air and intense minerality. Spending her formative years in Beaujolais under the tutelage of the giants - think Xavier Bénier, Lapalu, Lapierre & Métras (wow) - France's pedigree is near untouchable. Eventually returning home in 2020, she now works with small parcels of native varieties, farming organically in truly "hard yakka" conditions in the pursuit of an honest and pure expression of Savoie's idyllic terroir.
