Organically Grown Syrah from the Miegunyah vineyard in the southern part of the Adelaide Hills. Vines rooted on gorgeous rolling hills 13 kms from the ocean & perched at 350 meters altitude on clay over silt-stone soils. Hand-picked, the Syrah has been 100% whole bunch fermented in a Fibre-glass tank for 2 weeks where we added about 2% of Viognier to help fix the colour and enhance the aromatic. The Syrah got then pressed into a mixture of old Barriques and Puncheons for seven months before blending and bottling.
After years lapsing around the world making wine / beer /sake / farming, Jean-Baptiste Courdesses created a winery in Basket Range since 2020, crafting wines exclusively from organically grown grapes, focus on regenerative practice and made naturally without any additions, fining nor filtration but only grape juice : Pur Jus Wines. Based on intuitive reaction & natural instincts decisions, our wines reflect the place and the character of the grape variety only permitted by a farming respectful of the environment and the fauna, flora.
