2022 Koerner Parish Riesling

"The vineyard is owned and managed by our neighbours and lifetime friends Malcolm and Jenny Parish. This year the site turns 100 years old and it is one of the first three Riesling vineyards planted in the Clare Valley. Watervale is known for its Terra Rossa soils but these vines have been planted on a unique strip of slate. The vineyard is on a South facing slope with the rows running East to West. The wine is fermented in 10% ceramic egg and 90% stainless steel for two months and then ages in stainless steel for 11 months on fine lees. Beautiful floral and herbal notes lift from the glass, the palate explodes with melon, lime and stone fruits. It offers a subtle savouriness which balances the fruit and acid perfectly. A powerful and unique expression of Riesling, which really reflects the site." - Jono
