2022 LATTA Vino Tranquil Rosé

"This release of tranquil is 100% Sangiovese from our favourite original Latta vineyard source, Shays Flat in the Landsborough Valley Pyrenees (certified organic). It’s backed up with trusty Camfeild vineyard from Moonambel Pyrenees. Usually there’s Nebbiolo in this cuvée, yet due to poor flowering on the nebbiolo 2022 all went into red production.
Tranquil is produced by whole bunch pressing each site individually as well as few different batches of barrel ferment. Left to rest for a number of months on Lees, racked then bottled with a small amount of Sulphur. The cooler longer season of 2022 resulted in an excellent prolonged ripening period, beautifully pitched acidity, excellent flavour profiles & the slightest watermark of colour from the short time on skins in the press. Pretty stoked with this years Tranquil it looks quiet but rocks loud." - Owen
LATTA Vino is the experimental second-label of Owen Latta of Eastern Peake, helping him earn the title of Gourmet Traveler Wine Magazine Young Winemaker of the Year. The fruit is sourced from vineyards run by old family friends and relative in the regions surrounding the Latta family’s property in Coghills Creek. Like Eastern Peake, the fruit is sustainably grown and - except for the occasional small addition of SO2 at bottling - the wines are made without additions.
