2022 Renzaglia Chardonnay di Renzo
Description
WINEMAKER: Sam Renzaglia
REGION: Orange, NSW
VARIETY: Chardonnay
VITICULTURE: Sustainable
The 2022 Chardonnay di Renzo is made from grapes sourced from 2 vineyards in Orange- Occulus Vineyard in Borenore and Belmont in the Springside area on the South side of town. Both vineyards are cold vineyards, particularly Belmont where we harvested Chardonnay grapes for sparkling (usually one of the earliest picks) after our Cabernet at Bella Luna (usually one of the last picks). Like all of the di Renzo wines we picked the grapes earlier than we would for the Renzaglia Range. The grapes were whole bunch pressed and fermented in a 2000L concrete tank by wild yeasts with occasional lees stirring early in the wines maturation. The wine was held in this tank for 10 months prior to bottling without any fining, filtration and only a light addition of sulphur.

Come curious. Leave with a new favourite.
We don’t tell you what to drink. You don’t need to know your varietals, regions or vintages, and you certainly don’t need to pretend you do. Tell us what you like, hate, what you’ve tried or curious about — we’ll take it from there. Sometimes the best bottle is the one you didn’t know you wanted.
