2022 Scintilla Forest Chardonnay
Description
WINEMAKER: James Madden
REGION: Adelaide Hills, SA
VARIETAL: Chardonnay
VITICULTURE: Organic/Biodynamic
"A low cropping clone grown at at altitude of 600 metres on heavy clay based soils loaded with white quartz, pink quartz and layers of schist. A cool vintage is reflected along with the terroir. Mineral driven wine with trademark citrus and yellow stone fruit. Fresh upon opening and if let to warm reveals a generous mid palate. Subtle oxidative note adds depth, complexity and intrigue. Don’t be afraid to drink over a few days. All the stuff I love about this variety." - James
Sommelier-turned-winemaker James Madden has worked with the likes of James Erskine (Jauma) and Tom Shobbrook. He now shares a shed in the Basket Range with Alex Schulkin (The Other Right) to produce his own minimal intervention wines. All grapes are organic and/or biodynamic, handpicked and processed by shovel & fork. Wines are transferred by siphon using gravity, unfined, unfiltered and always zero adds.

We don’t tell you what to drink. You don’t need to know your varietals, regions or vintages, and you certainly don’t need to pretend you do. Tell us what you like, hate, what you’ve tried or curious about — we’ll take it from there. Sometimes the best bottle is the one you didn’t know you wanted.
