Machine harvested from the Blue Pyrenees Estate vineyard in the Pyrenees, Western VIC. Mature Semillon vines in a continental climate grown on a well-draining site with gravel, sandstone at depth with reddish-brown, sandy loam over a sandy, clay loam subsoil.

"Picked for brighter acid and fruit character before being pressed to wild ferment in barrel. Wine completes malo and a barrel is left ullaged to develop more nutty/pear aromatics to build complexity in the blend. This is a textural wine seeking to challenge the Australian perception of Semillon. It is named after the Ibis as it is also much malligned as a grape" - Alex Croker
