100% Shiraz sourced from the Rice's vineyard in the Grampians, Western Victoria. Planted on weathered volcanic soils to sandy and red clay loams interspersed with ironstone. Organically farmed, though not certified.

"A blend of 4 different pick days, 100% Concongella Best's Old Block clone Shiraz. Predominantly the earliest pick from the cane pruned section at the western edge of the vineyard. This pick is for the red fruits. The second pick is the most northerly section of the block. Spur pruned, more spice driven. The final two picks are from the easterly section. The east is very austere and provides dark fruits and more structure." - Alex Croker
