2023 Commune of Buttons Commune Pinot Noir
Description
WINEMAKER: Jasper Button
REGION: Adelaide Hills, SA
VARIETY: Pinot Noir
VITICULTURE: Organic/Biodynamic
The Pinot from Commune of Buttons is from 0.5 hectares of Pinot Noir from the Clover vineyard east facing slope. Post hand harvest the grapes were sorted, then destemmed with 10% whole bunches. Maceration was for 3 weeks followed by elevage for 11 months in a single 1800L Foudre. The wine is bright, acid driven and red fruited with cherries and spice on the nose, it has a dark bramble core with a generous mid pallet.
In the epicentre of Australia’s lo-fi wine movement, siblings Sophie and Jasper Button have created a label that strives for transparency and unpretentiousness. The organic operation is focused mainly on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with minimal intervention and additions. Bottling occurs by hand at the source. The resulting wines are vibrant and delicious and speak of site above all else.

Come curious. Leave with a new favourite.
We don’t tell you what to drink. You don’t need to know your varietals, regions or vintages, and you certainly don’t need to pretend you do. Tell us what you like, hate, what you’ve tried or curious about — we’ll take it from there. Sometimes the best bottle is the one you didn’t know you wanted.
