This is their 'perpetual cuvée', somewhat like a solera system used in sherry. A blend of pignoletto, alionza, albana and malvasia, different vintages, different vessels, constantly topped up with younger wine to prevent oxidation. Freshness and bright fruit imparted by the young wine with a savoury, saline, nutty component from the mature. Intriguing, a joy to drink.
Federico and Carola's biodynamic farm is 200m above sea level on the hillsides of Bologna. Taking over the estate in 2005 and swiftly converting to biodynamics, making honest, terroir-expressive wine with a hands-off approach.
